Vela & Lux began with experience earned long before we opened this store. Through previous interior projects and sourcing work, we kept encountering the same problem: lighting fixtures can look nearly identical online, yet feel completely different once they are specified, installed, and lived with. The difference is rarely obvious in a single image. It is in the weight of the hardware, the quality of the finish, the proportions, the construction details, the way light is distributed, and whether a piece still feels right when it becomes part of a real space.
That experience shaped Vela & Lux. We did not set out to build a catalog with thousands of products. We created a deliberately small collection fixtures, each selected because it met our standards for character, material presence, construction, and everyday usability. Every piece in the collection has a reason to be here.
Our point of view is simple: a lighting fixture should do more than fill a wall or ceiling. It should bring proportion, warmth, and a sense of intention to the room around it. We are drawn to pieces with sculptural silhouettes, thoughtful materials, and details that hold up beyond the first impression.

Beyond the Surface
Vela & Lux develops lighting fixtures from concepts created by our team and from project briefs provided by our clients. We refine each design through drawings, material selection, proportion studies, and prototype review, then work with independent manufacturing partners to produce the finished fixture to our specifications.
We intentionally operate with a highly edited catalog. Rather than offering thousands of untested SKUs, we focus on a small batch of fixtures we actively use and trust. This lean inventory model allows us to focus closely on the quality and details of every fixture we carry. Every single piece has to earn its place in our store.
For custom projects, clients may share their own requirements, drawings, or visual references. Our team uses those materials as the starting point for a project-specific design proposal, which is reviewed and refined before production. Finished fixtures are inspected before they are released for shipment.
We are equally committed to mindful packaging. Our corrugated boxes are crafted from renewable fibers featuring post-consumer recycled content and are printed with water-based inks. We also utilize 100% recyclable liners and microcellular foam. Engineered for source reduction and photodegradability, our packaging is designed to minimize material usage and optimize space. This helps reduce waste, transit energy, and unnecessary material across our daily operations.
All fixtures in our current collection are specified with LED light sources. Compared with traditional incandescent lighting, LED lighting uses significantly less energy while delivering the illumination needed for everyday living.
We offer specialized project customization services for interior designers and contractors. We oversee every step with rigorous quality control—from sketches and prototypes to the finished product. Our experienced design team will collaborate closely with you, discussing every detail to finalize your vision. Furthermore, you are entitled to highly competitive rates on our inventory of in-stock products.
