Product Care

Our lighting and decorative objects are crafted from natural materials that may develop subtle variations in colour, texture and patina over time. These changes are part of the material’s character. Proper care will help preserve the appearance and integrity of your piece.

Before cleaning any lighting fixture, switch off the power and allow the fixture and bulbs to cool completely. Always test cleaning products on a small, inconspicuous area first.

Brass & Copper

Brass and copper may naturally darken or develop a patina over time. The appropriate care method depends on whether the surface is lacquered, waxed or left untreated.

(A). Lacquered Finishes

Lacquered brass and copper are coated with a clear protective layer that helps prevent oxidation and chemical corrosion. Under normal indoor conditions, this coating will generally provide protection for approximately five years, although its lifespan may vary depending on humidity, handling and exposure to chemicals.

For routine care, gently remove dust with a clean, dry and soft cloth. If deeper cleaning is required, use a soft cloth lightly dampened with water and a mild, pH-neutral detergent. Wipe away any residue and dry the surface immediately.

Do not use metal polish, abrasive pads, alcohol, ammonia, bleach, acidic cleaners or solvent-based products, as these may damage or remove the protective coating.

(B). Waxed Finishes

Waxed brass and copper require periodic maintenance to preserve their protective surface. Depending on environmental conditions and frequency of handling, we recommend reapplying wax every three to six months.

Before waxing, clean the surface gently with a diluted pH-neutral detergent and a soft cloth. Remove all cleaner residue and allow the surface to dry completely. Apply a thin, even layer of high-quality microcrystalline wax, following the wax manufacturer’s instructions, and buff gently with a clean, soft cloth.

For everyday maintenance, use only a dry, soft cloth. Avoid excessive moisture, metal polish and abrasive cleaning products.

Alabaster

Alabaster is a naturally soft and delicate stone. Even a fingernail may leave a mark on its surface, so it should be protected from impact, scratching and contact with hard or sharp objects.

To clean alabaster, wipe it gently with a soft cloth that is only slightly damp. Dry the surface immediately with a clean cloth. Do not soak the stone or use abrasive, acidic, alkaline or solvent-based cleaners. Avoid placing alabaster in areas with persistent moisture or extreme temperature changes.

Marble & Natural Stone

Marble is naturally porous and may be sensitive to staining, scratching and acidic substances. Remove spills promptly, especially liquids such as wine, coffee, citrus juice and vinegar.

For routine cleaning, dust with a dry, soft cloth. When necessary, wipe with a slightly damp cloth and a mild, pH-neutral stone cleaner. Remove any residue and dry the surface immediately.

Do not use vinegar, lemon-based cleaners, bleach, abrasive powders, scouring pads or general-purpose acidic cleaners. Avoid allowing water or cleaning products to remain on the surface. Depending on the type of marble and its finish, periodic professional sealing may be recommended.

Iron & Steel

Iron and steel components are generally finished with a protective paint, lacquer or powder coating to help prevent rust and corrosion.

For regular maintenance, remove dust with a dry, soft cloth. If cleaning is necessary, use a cloth lightly dampened with water and a mild, pH-neutral detergent. Wipe away any residue and dry the metal thoroughly and immediately.

Do not use abrasive pads, metal brushes, acidic cleaners, bleach or harsh chemicals. Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture, particularly around joints, edges and mounting points. If the protective finish becomes scratched or chipped, the affected area should be repaired promptly to reduce the risk of corrosion.

Linen, Fabric & Silk

Fabric shades and textile elements should be handled with clean, dry hands. Dust regularly using a soft brush, lint-free cloth or vacuum cleaner with a clean upholstery attachment on its lowest suction setting.

For linen and most woven fabrics, small marks may be gently blotted with a clean, slightly damp cloth and a diluted, pH-neutral detergent. Do not rub, scrub or saturate the fabric, as this may cause distortion, water marks or colour loss. Allow it to air-dry naturally away from direct heat.

Silk is especially delicate and may be permanently marked by water. Avoid spot-cleaning silk unless specifically permitted by the product instructions. Professional specialist cleaning is recommended for stains or deeper cleaning.

Protect all textiles from prolonged direct sunlight, excessive humidity, smoke and grease, as these may cause fading, discolouration or deterioration. Never place a wet fabric shade back onto a light fixture.
